On August 31, the 6th Expanded Board Meeting of the 9th Session of the China Leather Association was held in Shanghai, coinciding with the China International Leather Exhibition. Over 300 representatives from leather industry enterprises, local associations, industrial clusters, and research institutes across the country attended the event.
The meeting analyzed the industry's economic performance from 2025 to the first half of 2026, noting that the sector maintained overall resilience while facing practical challenges such as weak external demand, rising costs, and intensified international competition. Green transformation, digitalization, and domestic consumer demand have emerged as new drivers for industry growth. The conference reviewed and approved the annual work report, financial report, and council transition plan, officially established the Digital Intelligence Professional Committee, conducted awards for outstanding industry achievements, and set the timeline for the upcoming 10th council transition.
